Refurbished iPhone bought from Apple Store

Hi. I purchased an iPhone 8 plus refurbished from the Apple store. I then tried to switch my phone with Sprint and then they told me it was not compatible. When I purchased the phone I had no idea that it was incompatible with any carriers. I thought I was basically buying a new phone where they wiped everything clean. And it was unlocked without a Sim card. Nothing was mentioned on description. Can anyone help me out? Thank you.

If you purchased your iPhone in the last 14 days you can return it. This article explains more:

If it has been beyond the 14 days you can activate the iPhone with a compatible carrier, you can try selling the iPhone on your own, or trade it in for a compatible iPhone:
