Converting word files

I've purchased a new MacBook Air that doesn't yet have the 16.53 Word on it but I will have access to it. My many documents (I'm a writer) are on word for Mac 2011 version 14.76 in my old MacBook Air.

Will I be able to transfer my many documents to the 16.53 Word version and will they look right? Sorry, I don't know the proper terminology for tech things but I hope you get the gist of my question.
