If I have a device running iOS 14.8, and I want to factory reset it, will it automatically be updated to iOS 15 after reset? I don’t want to update this device to iOS 15 until they sort out some of the bugs, and was wondering if it prompts me to update after reset, or just updates it to 15.0.1 anyways. Thanks!

Yes.
I know this seems menial and has to do with semantics, but a reset and restore are two different things. However, a restore to factory settings will update the iOS to the latest iOS available, which at this time iOS 15.0.1.

While I have an iPhone 13 Pro, I have to say that the only problem I experienced was the inability to unlock my iPhone with a mask on with my Apple Watch, however iOS 15.0.1 fixed that.
Ok thanks for the feedback, this phone would be an iPhone 11 pro max, so I'd imagine most of the bugs specifically related to this phone have long been fixed.
