HomePod mini wireless audio syncing with Apple TV 4K

the audio syncing with my Apple TV 4K and 2 HomePod minis is off. Both HomePods are grouped and firmware is v 15. The Apple TV 4K is updated to the latest OS. The wireless sync calibration in the AppleTV settings starts but as soon as it does the HomePods stop playing sound so there’s no way for the audio to sync.

I have done the following:

  1. Ungrouped the homepods and power cycled and regrouped.
  2. power cycled the tv, Apple TV, HomePods, router, and modem all at the same time.
  3. reset the HomePods 3 times.
  4. called Apple support and got disconnected after 47 minutes.

the only thing I haven’t done is reset the AppleTV 4k

As far as I can tell the calibration feature is for when you have a mix of audio outputs such as Homepods and TV speakers. It is not intended for lip-syncing the Homepods with the video and so is not helpful for your setup (also explains why the Homepods go silent).

I have original Homepods and have had to put up with poor lip-sync from time-to-time until an OS update comes out.

The current OS 15 is working well but, strangely, when some apps start or I change the volume the audio stutters while it goes into sync.

Sorry I don't have a solution for you. Give Feedback to Apple and hope an OS update fixes the issue.
