Can I charge my MacBook Pro using my iPad usbc cable?

My USB c cable for my MacBook was chewed by my puppy, the adapters still fine just the cable’s broken. I have to work tmr and I need my MacBook the whole day through. I’m thinking if I can use my iPad usb c cable in this case? I can see there’s a size difference between these two cords(Mac one is thicker and longer but iPad one is thinner and shorter) will that work? Thanks in advance

There are some ideas about Mac-compatible cables, adapters, & specs; here:

• Find the right power adapter and cable for your Mac notebook - Apple Support

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201700

[An output wire should be at least same as one shipped with the power adapter.

And have correct connectors. There's some wires are rated for Data & Power, too.]

• About Apple USB power adapters - Apple Support

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT210133

Without comparisons and specifications, this topic is too speculative to guess

when your device(s) may be damaged, among other things that could happen.

(You may give the cable a field test; while in dire straits, it may

do OK for awhile. However I'm not apple; just DIY person who

also 'volunteers' sometimes, here in Apple community online.)

• If your USB-C power adapter isn't charging your Mac notebook - Apple Support

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204652

Depending on your location, region, country; replacement correct parts may be

purchased from Apple-authorized resellers. Or AASP; independent repair facilities

may sell replacement Apple accessories to customers. (May ship to locations, too.)
