I have an iPhone 5 and I am not able to connect to the hotspot on my iPhone 12 Pro Max or iPhone 13Pro. Is the iPhone 5 capable of connecting the hotspot on a iPhone 12 or newer?

Have you tried Settings/General/Reset - Reset Network Settings?
Did you try to change the hotspot password already ? Very often helps :)
Does the phone connect to other Wi-Fi networks?
It should work. The hotspot is not device dependent; any device that has Wi-Fi should be able to use the hotspot.
If you have tried multiple devices check with your carrier.
I cannot get it to work on either device the 12 or 13. I've done a restart on all the devices and it still throws an unable to connect error. The hotspot on the 12 and 13 work perfectly fine when connecting to it with our iPhone 7 Max.
Tried that too and still doesn't work :-(
Thanks! The iPhone 5 does not have service and we do not have any issues with other devices connecting to the hotspots with other devices just he issue with the iPhone 5 unfortunately.

Yes, it has no issues connecting to our home and others home wi-fi networks.
