My computer shows almost every website as not being safe. Is my computer too old to get regular updates. Version 10.11.6. Purchased 2011


iMac 21.5″, OS X 10.11

A 2011 iMac will nicley support High Sierra 10.13, and that should get you a newer version of Safari. Mrs AJ still uses her 2011 iMac with 10.13 and has not complained about sites failing or throwing up warnings.

TWO NOTES:


  • ALWAY back up your data to an external drive before doing any major system upgrades.
  • Use Safari for the download. ApparentlyFireFox is not handling macOS download files correctly.
