My Ipod won't work with Libby anymore, any suggestions?

I have a 5th generation IPOD Touch and can no longer get the Libby app to work to be able to listen to books. Is it just that my Touch is too old or what am I doing wrong?

iPod, iOS 9

Sadly my money is on your device being too old. IPod 5’s run iOS 6 maybe and the current iOS is 15, so very out of date.

the infrastructure of the app probably does not support your version. You could contact Libby’s support and make sure but it may be time for a new device.

I found a solution for my iPad 3 from 2012 that is also stuck running iOS 9.3.5 - the AppStore says Libby is compatible with iOS 9 so I was able to download the latest version, but a change in certificates is now causing a problem with the app working.

In Safari, I downloaded an updated certificate at this link - https://letsencrypt.org/certs/isrgrootx1.der

and installed it when prompted. Libby now works on my 11 year old Retina iPad and might restore the connection for your iPod Touch running the same iOS 9.

My Ipod won't work with Libby anymore, any suggestions?
