Emails deleted on Desktop Outlook don't get deleted on mobile app

The emails that I have deleted on the desktop Outlook application still shows up in my iOS mail (and Outlook Mobile) apps.

I am running IOS v14.8 (on iPhone 12 Pro Max). I have tried so the usual steps (reboot phone, disable/enable mail, etc).

Any ideas on what could be wrong? Thanks.
