Hotspot

iPhone se 2nd gen personal hotspot option is not showing in settings while using BSNL 4g SIM card (network on 3G) but after inserting Airtel SIM card it works fine.

Actually they have encountered this problem for the first time itself so they don’t have any clue about this. But it got solved.

Settings>>Mobile data>>choose option below network selection>> Change APN name to “bsnlnet” wherever you see APN.

It worked.

Thank you for the clarification. Question: Were you able to contact BSNL and ask why it is not available on your iPhone after the update? They may have a simple fix by having you update the carrier settings that they can push on to your iPhone. Please ask them about this.


If you have not already, then please try shutting down your iPhone and restarting it by opening Settings ➔ General ➔ Shutdown.

HotSpot is a feature that is provided and managed by your carrier. It is highly possible that BSNL does not support HotSpot with your plan and is therefore not included. If you feel that the HotSpot from BSNL is included in your plan then contact BSNL and inquire to confirm.

AirTel SIM card works fine because AirTel supports the HotSpot feature and is included in your mobile service plan.
