Date display on lock screen

I have an iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 both currently running iOS 15.0.1

On the lock screen for the iPhone 7 the date shows Friday, October 8

On the lock screen for the iPhone 8 the date shows Fri, Oct 8

Where is the setting on the iPhone 8 to display the full month and day rather than the abbreviation?

Hello. It sounds like you may have made adjustments to your iPhone text size. Please check your text size settings and make sure that it is small enough to show the full date on the lock screen. If the text size slider is set to a larger value, then the abbreviated date will be shown.
