Hide Mobile me sync button from menu bar?

Hi,
I do NOT have an mobile me account. So I can not see the preferences in System Preferences/mobile me. Is there a way to hide the icon in the menu bar? (even on a 17' MBP the menu bar is pretty full so I have to clean up here a bit)

Any idea would be appreciated.

Yes, Hold CMD and left mouse to "drag" it off the menu bar, similar to dragging something off the dock.
