There are some keyboard shortcuts you can use to move around, but they are not very versatile. You can <tab> across the screen and you can <return> to select a button, if you're lucky enough to land on it. Good luck!

Thank you for responding. My dilemma is: what if I can't find the mouse (wireless, I have kids who take things), and I need a quick way to get into my email. Is there a way to use the iMac without the mouse? Is there a way it can be a touch screen (sorry, I'm a novice at this)? Thank you.
I don't believe that Mac's have touch screens. If I remember correctly, it is possible to move the curser around somewhat by using the various arrows on your keyboard. You can try that and see if it helps. As I said, I would get a wired mouse. Beyond that, I can not tell you how to best parent a child.
Not really. A mac will work with most any mouse. I prefer a wired mouse. I use a very cheap Microsoft mouse. Why not simply buy a new one.
As mentioned no not really. You can buy a wired mouse for about $5 so money cannot be the issue. If you want a selection please navigate to Search Results for mouse at MacSales.com
Always keep an extra mouse handy. I use a wireless, but have a wired mouse backup.
A wired USB mouse is less likely to be easily carried away by little fingers. Pick up an inexpensive mouse the next time you’re out.
You are correct, there are no Macs that are touch screen devices.
