Cancellation of iCloud subscription

Hello , I recently moved from using an iPhone 7 of 32 gb to iPhone 11 of 128 gb - So i wanted to check if i can cancel my iCloud suscription as I think it has enough space now - And also once i cancel it , I hope the data on cloud will be backed up safely so that i don't lose it in my new phone
