iPhone delivery

Anything is possible, but my experience has been that Apple's system is pretty accurate and the phone will most likely arrive within the dates listed. There is nothing you can do to speed it up. Orders are delivered in the order they were taken. This being a pandemic year, which has slowed manufacturing down worldwide, coupled with chip shortages has meant longer wait times for the new phones than in previous non-pandemic years.

I would, If I were you, have a plan in place to have someone be looking for your delivery if you have to leave before it comes. They can then ship it to you if you are leaving permanently or hold if for you until you come back.

I can tell you that in non-pandemic years my deliveries have arrived earlier in the delivery time frame. And Apple wants your phone to be delivered the soonest it can be as they don't charge your credit card until the phone is shipped.

But this is a pandemic year, with delays which are totally out of Apple's control. So what happens with your phone this year, can't be compared to prior years when there were fewer issues effecting deliveries.

Hence I encourage you to have a plan in place if your phone is delayed beyond your departure date.

I just ordered mine today. Same issue (travel), except the Verizon Wireless store gave me a specific ship date (not a date range) of Nov. 11 with delivery within two days. One thing that will help me is it will be shipped to the store not to my address, which works for me to just pick it up there since they're at the local mall, not far away. Might want to consider that if it's an option.
