Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT

Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

How can I merge two different Apple IDs into a single account?

I currently have two different Apple IDs - one for iTunes and one for everything else. A lot of confusion is happening between my new iPhone and a new iPad air as they try to share *everything*! It all worked better when they were separate..... now? too much sync-ing.

How can I merge two different Apple IDs into a single account? (Simple is better...)

iPad Air, iPadOS 15

Merging Apple Accounts or transferring data is not officially supported, nor can it be done easily or completely.

Look into using Family Sharing to continue to be able to use items purchased with one Apple ID with other Apple IDs.

Family Sharing - https://support.apple.com/HT201060

Set up Family Sharing - https://support.apple.com/HT201088

Fortunately when you sign out of one ID and sign in with a different one it asks you in most cases if you wish to retain the data from it on your device. Say yes and then delete individual items you do not want.

Sign out of iCloud on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Apple TV, or Mac --> https://support.apple.com/HT208242

If another Apple ID is signed in you may need to enter the password for that ID to sign out of that ID first.

Thanks.... I should have guessed that a simple question would have such an answer. I managed the accounts better when I could keep some things separate, but everything has to be everywhere now, so I might be SOL....

Is there a way to have the items from ID #1to show up in ID#2? I'm asking, because I've had lots of confusion between them, e.g., my devices show up in one place, but not the other; and my mail accounts got confused, too.

It's not only between IDs, but also between devices - iPhone (which has been not-confused for over a year), and a new iPad Air (bought in July and worked fine before the end of Sept.). I even did a hard reset of the iPad and started from scratch....

Thanks, too, for letting me vent or was it TLDR?
