iPhone acting weird - self activating whilst on charger pad

My iPhone X has been acting weird for a week and self activating during the night at random hours when on the charger pad - it’s been a bit spooky, actually …

Music app started playing loudly. 

Camera turned on - I watched display toggle between settings. 

Phone disabled for one hour message displayed - preceded by sound of keys being pressed. 

I thought it might be malware or someone had breached my network so played with different settings at night -

e.g. turned off wifi

e.g. no charging on the pad.

I cannot explain why but I can now say with certainty it is the charger pad pictured. This only started happening the day I had the screen/lcd replaced because I dropped the phone - it started that evening. Weird!
