On some web pages I get emojiis instead of ‘normal’ characters / symbols

I have the iPad 4th generation which I’ve had for about 6 months, running software version 14.7. When I go into some web pages, Tripadvisor for instance I get emojiis instead of standard characters or symbols, instead of the calendar symbol next to where you’d change the date I get a tennis ball emojii and in the rating section instead of their green dots I get emojiis of fax machines ! This is the same all over the page, it’s not the website as I tried exactly the same on my husband’s iPad and his shows the normal characters. I don’t want to remove emojiis completely from my iPad just where it appears on some webpages. Does anyone get the same thing or know how to correct it please ?

Hello Jfl9876,

It sounds like you're experiencing some issues with icons on your webpages while using your iPad. We will be happy to assist you.

Are you using any type of ad blocker software? If so, what happens whenever you turn those off?

Also, does this happen after you restart your device? Restart your iPad

Can you send us a screenshot of what you're seeing?

Cheers!
