Hello and welcome to Apple Support Communities Rgkent,

Thank you for contacting us. You have come to the right place and we are happy to assist you. We understand you want to stop your iPhone from automatically connecting to your wife's car when in bluetooth mode.   We can understand why you’d reach out for a solution. To start, make sure you have the most current operating system on your device. (Settings > General > Software Update)  Do you have auto answer enabled? (Accessibility > Touch > Call Audio Routing >Auto-Answer Calls) Route and automatically answer calls on iPhone

Make sure you have a backup prior to making any major system changes: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. We recommend to check the auto answer settings and disable it after the backup.

If you need further assistance after following the link above, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Thank you for contacting Apple Support Communities.

Best regards.
