Keyboard replacement

You may be oversimplifying the problem. Spills usually affect far more then the keyboard. Coffee is acidic and, with time, can damage or destroy electrical connections. Often, the full scale of spill damage does not show up for days or weeks.

You must have Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider evaluate the computer immediately before the damage worsens.

Many computers that suffers spills never recover. Be prepared to hear that repairs are not possible, or will cost as much as a new computer. If you do not have AppleCare+ with accidental damage coverage, put your homeowners'/renters' insurance carrier on notice now of a potential full loss. That, subject to the usual deductible, may be the only financial relief available to you.

If you have AppleCare+ it will cover a large portion of accidental damage.
