Dialogue boxes

Why can’t I get a dialogue box that has the option to ‘cut’ instead of just ‘copy’ when I have highlighted text?

A friend asked me about this problem...she’s running running latest version of ios 15 and using Apple mail app. I am using 14.6 and Apple mail app. The problem arose when trying to forward another’s email with large number of recipients and attempting to delete all the email addresses. We both got the dialogue box without ‘cut’ option after highlighting the emails.

as to updating to ios 15, I’ve heard it referred to as a ‘dumpster 🔥’ so I think I’ll wait a bit.

Thanks for your response, Shannon, but I had already read the article you recommended and it doesn’t solve the problem. The dialogue box still doesn’t have the cut option, and the 3-finger pinch does cut, but it cuts the entire page, not just the highlighted section.

I tried forwarding it to myself which usually lets you modify someone else’s work, but that doesn’t bring up a box containing the cut option either.

Hopefully someone out there will have the answer.

Thank you for suggesting Apple Support! The work-around is to highlight the entire email, copy, then paste into new email. Then you can highlight the revealed email addresses and get a dialogue box with the cut option. Unfortunately that takes about as much time as manually deleting them, but it is an option.

I appreciate your time to try to help me!!!
