Iphone8 microphone problem

I purchased my iPhone 8 reconditioned in the USA. I moved to Sri Lanka however the sound keeps going on and off when calls are made to the receiver. Sometimes muffled. I can hear perfectly well however. Is it a frequency problem?

IPHONE 7 PLUS MICROPHONE HAS STOPPED WORKING DURING PHONE CALLS Dear Apple support team, lately I am facing a serious problem with the microphone of my iphone 7 plus. During calls, incoming or outgoing I can't hear or be heard. I tried out some tests to be sure such as video or voice recording without any success. I searched the internet for this issue and I was astonished to find out that lots of iphone 7 users face just the same issue. It seems to me that this problem is not due to any failure of my phone, but it is a general problem either of the software or of the hardware. Kindly advise for next steps.
