How to ban a website from playing sound permantly

Is there a way to permanently block a website or all websites from playing any sort of sound as a default setting? Even with auto play disabled in settings, some websites still manage to wiggle in annoying sound in places that either drowns out any music I'm currently playing or is downright annoying. I know you can click on the speaker icon in the address bar, but having to do this for every single website is unknowingly frustrating. Is there any way to fix this or should I just switch over to Firefox where its effortlessly possible

Hello MooseTheMoose,

Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities. We're here for you.

It sounds like you're taking the right steps to block autoplay for all videos on particular websites. To be sure, the steps in the section "Block video for the currently displayed website" in the user guide below has available options:

Stop autoplay videos in Safari on Mac

With that said, your experience with Apple's products and services is valued, and we invite you to submit yours for autoplay here:

We hope this information is useful. Kind regards.
