Apple News notifications not opening the story on my Mac

Recently when I get an Apple News notification and I click on it, it just takes me to the home screen of Apple News, not the relevant story.

I think that this is due to my other Apple devices upgrading to iOS15 and the News format changing but not sure. Any way to fix this, so when I click on notification I get the actual story!
