No, that isn't the purpose of the pre-order. Apple is notorious for being secretive and they aren't in this forum so you won't here anything from them here. And yes, there can be problems with dyes, etc. for certain colors or with hardware. The first modern buckle was pulled and wasn't available for pre-order or order for quite a while.

No manufacturer has unlimited production capacity. They estimate the demand prior to the pre-order.

Yeah, I have the same question. I was sitting ready at 14:00 past Friday to order my new Series 7 watch.

First 5 minutes was 'store is being updated', when it finally worked, I configured the green aluminium, with Inverness green solo band. It was not available for ordering. Tried the black solo loop, same thing.

Now, it's not even a choice anymore in the order screen, and it's infuriating. If I'm spending that much on a watch I want it in colours of my choosing. There is no message, feedback or anything else stating what's going on.

What problem? There are several colors that are available in US (maybe other countries) but not EU.

They should’ve known what was going to be a popular choice. especially because you get 50% off the braided loop with the watch. I’ll order the normal band as long as they give me a coupon or voucher for the braided solo loop at the discounted price.

but the lack of communication around it is what bothers me the most. I was ready the minute the website opened…

That is nonsense. That is what preorder is for.

besides, the green iverness is available in us, not in Europe.

If they know there is a problem with them, or there is going to be a severe delay they won’t show as a preorder.
