Updating older IMac
Trying to update my older iMac to newer software, and wondering how I got about it. I'm guessing one OS upgrade at a time?

that iMac can run high sierra. and according to the apple support page you can upgrade directly there from OS X 10.9.5. click here> macOS High Sierra 10.13
just to add, you should make a backup before proceeding incase something goes wrong during the upgrade.

It is imperative to know details about your Mac in order to advise you correctly.
The macOS version you can upgrade to depends on the year your Mac was released.
Click the (Apple) menu at the top left of your screen and choose About This Mac.
It's an iMac 21.5 inch, Mid 2011
OS X 10.9.5 currently
