iCloud for Windows not downloading live photo MOV files

I installed iCloud for Windows from the MS store on my fresh install of Windows 11. iCloud photos is only downloading 9000 items, whereas when I had Windows 10 installed, there were 15000.

The missing items are .MOV files that accompany JPG or HEIC files that were live photos.

Why are the .MOV files not downloading for the live photos any more?

Windows, Windows 10

Hello Yesterdays_Jam.

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you're experiencing issues when attempting to download your iCloud Photos to your Windows PC. Specifically, you've noticed that certain files are not downloading. We can understand how this would be an issue. Allow us to investigate this issue and assist in any way we can.

If you manually select one of the .MOV files and attempt to download just that one specific file, what happens? Does it download without any issues or does it prompt you with an error when attempting to download that one specific file? Have you tried to restart your PC to see if you notice any change? Just in case, we do have a couple of additional resources that review how to download your photos:

Hello,

I'm unable to select one of the .MOV files, since they don't show up at all in explorer. As seen in the screenshot below, there are only 9027 items.

On the same laptop when I had Windows 10 installed, there were 14623 items.

Here's an example from my backup folder where there is a matching .MOV file with the .HEIC file.

And here's the current iCloud photos folder were the .MOV is missing:

Hey there!

Thanks for updating us and for sharing these great screenshots as well. We can see exactly what you're talking about. IT appears that the video (.MOV file) is completely missing for each Live Photo that you've taken and attempting to download to your PC. From here, we strongly recommend that you reach out to Apple Support for assistance. They can investigate this issue further with you. Just in case, you can use the link below to reach them:
