My ipad pro is downloading excel CSV file as JSON file and only recently.
I’m downloading from my ANZ account which I have always done in the past, but recently I’m getting this when loading my download request "Do you want to download “ANZ.csv.json”?" When I have selected excel CSV, maybe it’s an ANZ fault. However it is fine on windows 10.
csv is not really an excel format it's just a , (or ;) separated text file
which excel can be a default program to open the type and display in an excel manner
since json is also formatted text it could be the reason

Where are you downloading the files from specifically?
Is this happening when you attempt to download any Excel files or just certain ones?
Are you trying to then import an Excel file into Numbers on iPad? Or, are you just saving it to Files?
