How do I STOP IPad from changing orientation when reading Kindle books?

The screen rotation lock can be accessed from the iPad Control Centre. Swipe downwards from the top-right corner of the screen, then tap the Rotation Lock icon:

Lock orientation of iPad with iPhone apps I have some apps that I need to use that only come in iPhone versions without a corresponding iPad version. In fact, one of the apps is only found in the vertical orientation, which is a little annoying on an iPad with a keyboard. Is there any way to "lock" the orientation of the iPad so that it is the same as the iPad and not sideways when using the keyboard? I'd probably need to use a different keyboard also.

screen lock orientation Why can't the screen lock feature lock the screen in either orientation. It's maddening that landscape will not stay that way. When watching some things if it's not tilted up enough it goes back to portrait. Maddening! PLEASE fix this.
