Looping text layers (clone layer?)

I have a few text layers that fade and scale in, move along a bezier curve, then fade/scale out (to give you an idea, these are Z's arising from a sleeping person icon). I want to loop these layers so that I don't have to duplicate over and over in my timeline, but when I make a clone layer the only timing options are in/duration/out. From my understanding this is something to do with the fact that the clips have no inherent timing value, but was hoping there was an easy solution?

I am hoping to publish into FCPX so the icon can build-in, loop for as long as I want, then build out.

I have also tried highlighting the keyframes and selecting After Last Keyframe > Repeat, but I want a small break so that it doesn't immediately repeat, and when I increase the layer duration (to add another keyframe) my X and Y transform keyframes seem to increase along with the clip duration. Hope that makes sense.

Thanks
