Screen records not saved or partially saved

Help!

I have been trying to record a live stream on a website which is an hour long every day. The first time I did it, it saved to photos with no problem. I have tried it several more times, and either it did not save it at all, or it saved the last 6 minutes, or the last 15 minutes of the 1 hour recording. I have 50GB of cloud storage, have installed the latest operating system, and have tried restarting the Ipad. Sometimes during recording a box comes up and says not saving due to it being full and not enough storage, even though I have 50GB. Sometimes the box does not come up at all, so I think it is recording fine, which it probably is, but it is just not saving it and I do not know why. I am confused, as the very first recording went fine. I kept checking during all these recording attempts, and the red circle icon at the top is on the whole time, so I assume it did actually record successfully, but it is either not showing up in photos at all, or just the last 6, or 15 minutes or so. I hope someone can help as this is frustrating.

thanks so much.

Hello newslover7777,

From your post it appears you are having an issue with saving screen recordings. The article you came from, Record the screen on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, has steps on how to record the screen of your device.

The box that is appearing that says, "not saving due to being full", is the key here. On your iPad, tap Settings > General > iPad Storage. This is the amount of storage that is available for screen recordings. Keep in mind that videos can take up a large amount of storage.

Screen recordings have to be saved to the device itself, before being uploaded to iCloud. Once uploaded, the iCloud will have the high resolution version, while a lower quality copy remains on your iPad.

Keep in mind that iCloud is actually a sync service, rather than a storage service. Information on how this works is available here: What is iCloud? - Apple Support

Just for informational purposes, here is an explanation of the difference between iCloud storage and device storage: What's the difference between device storage and iCloud storage? - Apple Support

Have a good day.

Thanks for all the info. I pretty much knew all the info you provided, but I guess you are saying I have to get more internal storage for the Ipad itself so that it can be stored on the device before uploaded to the cloud. I guess I need to get a flash drive or something like that to get more storage since the Ipad is not expandable. I have a Picture Keeper Connect that has a lightning tip adapter so I guess I could use that providing it has enough storage.

Thanks for your help.
