I do not know how to fix this issue: "Time Machine could not create a local snapshot to back up from because there was insufficient free space on the source volume(s)." I have sufficient space on both my laptop and the backup drive

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.14

We see that you are getting an error message when trying to backup with Time Machine and you referred to Back up your Mac with Time Machine.

We’d be happy to help you!


Since you said there is sufficient space on your Mac for the local snapshot, we recommend booting up with safe mode

through the steps in How to use safe mode on your Mac next to see if the backup will go through.
