MacBook and Windows compatibility

With Bootcamp you can install Windows 10 on your MacOS, then switch between macOS and windows when restarting your Mac. So Bootcamp requires a Mac with an intel processor.


‘’Question: what programs are already loaded on MacBook, why is there a need for windows which is Microsoft right? The reason I ask I have an IPad Pro with floating keyboard but I use pages which comes with my program but learned on Windows Excel, work, PowerPoint. Is windows compatible with these programs? Some seem to have updating issues wondering why?

Pages, Keynote and Numbers are Apple-only applications. There is no Windows equivalent.


  • Apple Pages ~= Microsoft Word
  • Apple Keynote ~= Microsoft Powerpoint
  • Apple Numbers ~= Microsoft Excel


There are Microsoft Applications for iOS and iPadOS in the Apple App Store.

Oh, good to know I guess I thought it was Microsoft not realizing it’s an equivalent of the other software.
