Adding songs into the library won't work

Hii,

I'm trying to add some of my songs into the library but it won't work. Some songs do show up, others really won't show up no matter where I search or what way I try to add the songs into the library.

All of them are just mp3 files so it must work, right?

I have Itunes for windows version 12.12.1.1 and a windows 10 computer.

This is really frustrating to me.

ps:

recently I had a problem with Itunes too, that it said ''Itunes can't run because some parts are missing" or something like that. So I had to re-download it.

Windows, Windows 10

Hi,

The original source is that I took them off Youtube. They're Youtube vids converted to mp3. Previously, it has always worked for me. I don't understand why it won't work anymore.

And no, I'm not getting any error messages, I get no messages at all!

I'll try it with another user account. Keep you updated!

Hey there Emeraldiine,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're having some issues adding songs to your iTunes library. We're happy to provide some assistance.

See if the steps here help:

Import media from a computer to iTunes on PC

Also, see if this occurs with specific content or any content you try to add to help isolate the issue.

If the issue persists, you mentioned that you uninstalled and re-installed iTunes; when you did this, did you follow the steps here to uninstall iTunes and it's components in the proper order?

Remove and reinstall iTunes and related software components for Windows 7 and later

If not, we do recommend doing so in the correct order.

Keep us posted.

Have a great day!

Thank you for the reply Emeraldiine!

What is the original source of the songs that are not working? For instance, were they purchased on iTunes or from CDs? If we can isolate the issue to a specific source, that might help since you mentioned some songs do work as expected. Are you getting any error messages?

Also, if you haven't already, try creating another user account on your PC to see if there is an issue with the user account.

Keep us posted!

Something else you can try is copying one of your problem files into the Automatically Add to iTunes folder inside your media folder. iTunes should either accept the file into the library, or move it into a Not Added folder. It won't provide a solution if it goes to the Not Added folder, but it would suggest there is something in particular that iTunes doesn't like about the content.
