Disposal of old iphone

I’d like to send a very old iPhone in to Apple for recycling. It doesn’t turn on. So old I don’t know the model. Don’t want any trade in. The phone has no value. Just want to dispose of it responsibly. I guess I could take it to a store but I’m elderly at risk from COVID. Can I mail it somewhere? Have been googling but can find no specific information, just lots of links that virtuously say take care with the disposal, you can mail it in, but nothing that says how or where. Or how to get a label. Thanks for any help.

Go to https://www.apple.com/shop/trade-in

Scroll about half way down the page. You'll see the following heading, "Select your device to get a trade-in estimate without a purchase."

Select "other devices, recycle"
