Hi, What are the steps for upgrading network security from WPA2-WPA3 or something better? Or where can I find Apple instructions for doing this? Devices: iMac 2009 - Ethernet, MBA 2012 - wifi, iPad, and 2 iPhones SE. ISP router Hitron. After market router TP-Link. Thanks in advance

it's not changed on the computer it's changed on the router and as each brand handle it differently it would be difficult to make an instruction

mind you not all older routers support wpa3
Your choices are:
changing the router settings online - if the router is quite new and has the option of WPA3 (most do not)
or
contact your ISP and ask if they have a router/modem offering WPA3 settings.
My (ex) ISP did not even know there are newer security protocols available. Mind you, you can keep using WPA2 - those have been outdated since WPA3 was introduced; you just did not know it because your older OS did not have that warning built in.

We just recently switched from DSL to Xfinity cable, and even though we bought a very recent model modem from Motorola, it doesn't have WPA3.
It seems a lot of manufacturers don't have it in their modems yet.
yeah and wpa2 aes is not too bad, unlike wpa2 tkip
and people should also remember that the purpose for it is so people within range of ones wifi network can't access it, it offers no protection from people from the internet trying to access your stuff
You see that warning on your iPad/iPhone if the router is set to use WEP or WPA. Both were broken long ago.
To fix it, you go into your router's settings pages and make sure WPA2 or better is selected. Some choices may be combined, like WEP/WPA/WPA2, or similar. Choose a wireless security setting that does not include WEP or WPA.
