Cannot move file from desktop
When I go to move any file from my desktop to a different folder it seems to be copying instead of moving. Does it have something to do with my permissions? Does anyone else have this issue?
iMac 27″, macOS 11.6

Drag/Drop from the Desktop to a folder on your Desktop, or elsewhere in your home directory should be a move operation. Dragging a file from your Desktop to a mounted drive is a copy operation unless you hold the cmd-key during the drag to force a move.

Macs are not Windows, and the old "cut" world of Windows doesn't exist in MacOS.
Be aware, some people say "move" and mean "copy".
