What is the maximum useful size and speed of memory upgrade for a mid-2011 Mac Mini?

What is the maximum useful size and speed of memory upgrade for a mid-2011 Mac Mini running macOS High Sierra? I currently have a total of 8 GB of RAM installed on the 2 full card slots. Is that the maximum memory that can be installed on this Mac Mini?

Learn which kinds of memory to use with your Mac mini (Mid 2011).

Mac mini (Mid 2011) computers have two internal memory slots. These slots accept a standard PC3-10600 DDR3 204-pin SO-DIMMs (Small Outline DIMM) with the following specifications:

PC3-10600 DDR3

Unbuffered

Non-parity

204-pin module

1333 MHz

You can use RAM module sizes of 1 GB, 2 GB, or 4 GB in each slot.

The above implies maximum RAM is 8 GB.

Is it wrong?

Yes, Apple's list was before 8GB modules were available, all 16 will be addressed &used if needed. :)

Standard RAM:4 GBMaximum RAM:16 GB*

Details:By default, 4 GB is installed as two 2 GB modules.

*Officially, this model supports 8 GB of RAM, but as first discovered by OWC, it actually is capable of supporting 16 GB of RAM using two 8 GB modules..
