i would like to compare the price “after tax” in both usa and france for ipad pro 2021 12 inch 128gb space grey with free engraving.
is it cheaper for me to purchase it in the us or in paris, france?

Tax in US depends on location. Sales tax can be charged by state, county,
city - all or none or combination thereof.
If you specify the location(s) you will be visiting in the US, someone may be
able to give you a better estimate of total cost.
Engraved iPads must be ordered on-line and engraving delays delivery from
the factory in China. While you can walk into an Apple store or Apple authorized
iPad retailer and make a purchase from stock, the iPad will not be engraved.
You are always better off purchasing your iPad where you will be using
it most as to prevent warranty concerns should there be any problem.
