New or refurbished

I just bought an Iphone 13 pro max and it was not working properly. it was within the two weeks period and i got a replacement phone mailed to me. the serial number starts with "n". is this a new phone?

Are you referring to the serial number, or model number?

N at the beginning of the model number signifies a replacement device.

N at the beginning of the serial number does not signify the device status at all.

How many remanufactured iphone 13 do you think there are?

But apart from the model number they are indistinguishable.

Apple don't refurb phones in the normal meaning they put them back through the manufacturing process.

My apologies I meant the model number however I attempted to return this phone within the two week warranty Apple provides. I am aware this is a replacement phone however how can I be sure it is a new phone?
