When will my warranty date begin?

I'm planning to buy an iphone 13 but I have doubts regarding when the warranty will begin. I will activate it in about a month, but am planning to send the phone to a cousins house. Will the warranty begin in a month when I activate the phone or it starts counting from the moment I buy it?
