“Maybe” contacts update

I noticed today that the contact details for my husband had an update details with a different number for the one that I have for him. I do not know where this number has come from. I have asked him if he has a second number (which is possible because he has a 12 mini so could have dual sim). He doesn’t know where this number has come from. I have searched my emails for this number but it can not be found. Is there any reason why my iPhone would be telling me to update his details with another number?

"Maybe" does not imply that the number needs to be updated. This is what Siri has learnt and is suggesting. You are free to ignore it.

What I have experienced is when you keep using the iPhone regularly the contacts with whom you interact or places you go recently and regularly will are learnt by Siri.

If you do not interact with contact or stop going to a place then it will disappear automatically.

However, you may....

  • To turn off Siri Suggestions, go to Settings  > Siri & Search, then turn off any of the following:
  1. Suggestions in Search
  2. Suggestions in Lookup
  3. Suggestions on Lock Screen
