It’s not letting me remove my card from my Apple ID as a payment method, so what do I do?

If you have a subscription, you need to add the new card, and then promote it to the primary payment method before you can remove the old card.

my phone won’t let me delete my card from payment method because it says I have a subscription which requires a payment however I don’t have any active subscriptions on my phone so what do I do?
