Samsung Portable SSD T7 Touch software - solved

Hi there,

I'm using the Samsung T7 (and T5) Touch software on Big Sur 11.6 - due to the built in encryption.

I had some issues in the last week and I found what the likely cause was - MacFuse 4.2.1 (installed so I could access a VeraCrypt/TrueCrypt volume)

I also had installed two versions of the Samsung driver - to allow the T5 drive to load successfully.

The kext files are under /Library/Extensions and I had two versions:

SamsungPortableSSDDriver.kext (T7) and SamsungPortableSSDDriverX.kext (T5)

I removed MacFuse (from under 'System Preferences') and the SamsungPortableSSDDriverX.kext extension, rebooted, and the Samsung T7 SSD drive has started to work again.

In general, I would avoid the Samsung drive encryption in the future :-/

Cheers,

Nigel
