Homekit automations not working ios15

I removed both my HomePoad Mini's (now only have ATV as hub) and my automations still don't work after 2 days.

This sucks....My most important devices also support ZigBee, so, I think I'll reset them to the ZigBee mode and see if my ZigBee enabled Alexa device will work correctly.

You hit the nail on the head. Constantly something busted that needs to be fiddled with…

I’ve spent a pile of money on this crap. The only thing keeping me from burning it.

Apple needs to fix the AUTOMATIONS section of HomeKit. Right now it stinks.

Thanks for taking the time to write this out. I've been struggling with this working one day and then not working the next. I have 2 Apple TVs and 8 HomePods around my large house, so i find HomeKit only works reliably depending on which of those devices becomes the HUB. First of all, Apple... I wish there was a way for us to permanently assign which device becomes the HUB. Mine always seems to assign the furthest HomePods from the centre of my house. Annoying...

The Siri Shortcuts idea is a good one! I can't believe i didn't think of this sooner.

I’m pretty mad considering I just bought Apple hub and a bunch of home kit items and they don’t work. I’m ****** off I spent a bunch of money setting this all up and it doesn’t do what it’s supposed to do… Not ok apple. Not ok. Automations don’t work at all, only test works like others say.

During the 15.4 update, several of my automations were once again lost. While there was no beta for my spare ipad my method broke down. I finally have it all working after several more days of frustration. But that’s the thing, if you want to use HomeKit, I guess you need to be ready for it. With the 15.4.1 available, I have some slight hesitation. Do I? Or will it throw off all my stuff once again? Hmm

HomeKit Hubs no longer work, WTF Apple?!

After updating my iPhone to iOS 15.5, both AppleTV's to tvOS 15.5.1, and my HomePod to 15.5.1 - I am no longer able to access my HomeKit remotely. I logged off and back onto iCloud on the AppleTV's ... still nothing.

What now?

Here we go again, after updating my iPhone to iOS 15.7 from iOS 15.6, all HomeKit automations stopped working!

I do not want to update to iOS 16 as of yet due to known issues, seems inevitable with the 15.7 update. Please have a iOS 15 update for this as well.

I haven't used google assistant much but am wondering if it would work better as a smart hub than iHome. iHome is so erratic it is useless and certainly not trustworthy. I sure wouldn't put any critical security on it. I'm on iOS15.7.1, btw. Anybody use Apple with Nest? Anything has to be better than iHome.

pretty disappointed with home kit. Always something needing more attention.

Ios 15 and also 15.2 crashed my smart home. I Can not add anything new to my now un-smart home :(

Having similar problems. Homekit is proving to be utter rubbish for me and I like to think myself capable of working this stuff out, now looking at alternatives.

a lot of stuff also supports Zigbee, I’m going to try using that with my Alexa Dot (4th gen) hub.

Thank you for the suggestion, but what you said is not completely true. The Home+ App doesn’t support audio automations at all which defeats the whole purpose for many people

No there is No fix. My homepod mini does not work as hub anymore. Look at other Solutions than iOS. Sad :’(
