Scan Blurry; iCloud vs Notes

iPhone 12 mini, newer iMac, iCloud. When I 'scan' a document using phone to 'iCloud' (from the 'iCloud app', the image is blurry. When scanning the same document, with the same phone, but use NOTES app, the image is clear. I've tried all of the different cameras setting when scanning the image (black/white, color/photo/ with flash, without, etc.) - same results. The image is just blurry. Its not the camera lens (it works find in Notes), and I've cleaned my phone ;). Any ideas? It's a bit maddening. I can use notes I guesss, but really like being able to just scan anything I want directly into my iCloud folders.

Hi,

I'm also facing the same issue. The results in Notes vs iCloud (Files app) are much different.

The test was done by scanning the same document under the same lightning with iPhone 12 Pro Max.

While the scan from the Notes app is clear the scan from the Files app is blurry to the point that the smaller text on the scanned document is unreadable.

The download is not the problem here since the scanned pdf file looks blurry both on iPhone (Files app) and mac (Finde->iCloud->Download document).

I've scanned documents with the Files app before and I don't remember them to be this much blurry.

Is there anything that can be done regarding this issue?

Hello 144onefortyfour,

We see you're having issues with scanned documents being blurry, and we'd like to help out.

Just to clarify, are you using the Files app (formerly known as the iCloud Drive app)?

Try locating the scanned file in the Files app, press and hold on it, and see if you have a Download option here. If so, select that, and see if it now appears clearly.

It may also help to try restarting the device, which can sometimes help with odd issues: Restart your iPhone

Be sure to also double-check to see if the iPhone is updated fully, the latest version is currently 15.0.2: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Take care.
