Not detecting USB C Monitor on M1 MacBook Pro

My M1 MacBook Pro no is longer connecting to my USB C monitor. It was happily working I think prior to the latest software update?

I'm using the same USB C cable I always have and even tried another USB C cable but that did't work either.

If I use a USB C Hub that has an HDMI output and connect that to the same monitor it works.

Anyone know if this is a software glitch in the latest system update?

Thanks.

Thanks, I did some more troubleshooting by trying to connect my iPad Air to the monitor by USB-C, and that didn’t work either.

Trawling the internet I came across the suggestion to use the monitors reset command in the settings menu. This cured the problem with the monitor working with both my MacBook Pro and iPad Air.

It’s thought a power disturbance can cause this problem with the monitor in question.

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Communities RubberMac,

We understand you're encountering an issue with a USB-C connected monitor. This isn't an issue we would expect to be encountered, either before or after the update, so the solution will most likely come from troubleshooting.

Testing with a different USB-C cable was definitely a good step to take.

The following page offers some additional troubleshooting steps that may resolve the issue: If your external display isn't detected or appears blurry on your Mac

If there's still no change, try isolating the behavior further by connecting the display to another computer to see if it works normally there, and testing a different display if you have one available, with your Mac.

Cheers!
