Free memory increased after iOS 13 upgrade

Hi and thanks for reading.

Every time there is a major iOS update, I noticed that I gain some GB of free space.

However this time my free space passed from 40 GB to 80 GB (on my 128Gb iPhone 7 Plus). How is this possible? it looks that everything is still on my iPhone.

Before, I was considering buying a 256 GB new iPhone 13 while now I believe that a 128 GB version would be still fine. However I’d like to be sure that nothing strange happened.

Ot could be possible that files or photos are updating on icloud however a thumbnail will available in your iphone and once gou open file or photo it will downloaded from icloud.( the complete file)

this is something like keeping image of file in iphone and rest on icloud

Same story here… each day less memory used.

Today only 24Gb out of my 128, but by adding the space used by each app it is well above 60Gb… please see the attached screenshot, whose graphic doesn’t make sense also..

My iPhone 11 showed I had used up about 37GB of space now it’s says I have only used 23GB, this morning it said I have only used 7GB. Something is not right I know I am using more GB than what my phone is telling me. Something is off.
