Apple Watch is pairing to an old apple id that is not valid

Can someone please help me. I have a new apple watch and I am trying to pair it to my phone, however it is automatically syncing to an old apple id that I have. I have tried to recover the password for this old id, however in the Data and Privacy website, it says that this id is no longer supported. How can my watch be syncing to an apple id that is not supported and how can I delete it if I can't get access to it??

You can ask apple to remove the activation lock online on this page;

Online Activation Lock Removal Tool.

Or this;

If you can't remember/gain access to the apple id that paired the watch to the phone.Take the watch and it's receipt along with some photo id and any other proof of ownership to an Apple Store and request that they remove the Activation Lock for you.
