Still have the 4x6 print issue no I do not need a link to pages…

Can someone please help me figure out how to change my printer back to regular pages. I HAVE NEVER PRINTED A PICTURE FROM MY PHONE!!!! My printer is a black and white LASER JET. I do not print from anything but the browser. No I am NOT ABLE TO SELECT A DIFFERENT SIZE PAPER please DO NOT LINK AIRPRINT SUPPORT TELLING ME HOW TO CHANGE PAGE SIZE IN PAGES. This is NOT the issue most of us having this problem do not use pages so please for the love of God can Apple fix this. I don’t have a computer I use my phone and iPad for everything this is beginning to be unacceptable and makes me miss my Android devices cause this forum with the same useless response and the same unresolved problems going on 2+ years now is quite frankly, ridiculous.

It opens regular size then immediately changes to the 4x6 size. This is NOT AN OPTION ON MY PRINTER. Please do not suggest I change my printer settings.

I would like you to know something and that is that the iPhone displays what is communicated by the Printer and its capabilities. When you are seeing the 4x6 option (without the ability to change it) then that is what is communicated to your iPhone by the printer. It appears that you are seeing the same behavior on your iPad as well. I wish that you had access to a computer and that would have given you another perspective as to what the printer was actually set up to perform.

I also am not sure what responses you have received in this forum and not sure of what all you have tried. By the way, this forum is made up of users just like you. Apple does not respond here. If you need official Apple Support then you will need to go here ➔ Get Apple Support. I am assuming that you have also contacted HP Support without any meaningful progress.

The recommendations below may be redundant because I am not sure what all you have tried in the past two years:

  1. Have you checked the printer's onboard settings? Onboard settings are located right on your printer. You can change default settings there including paper size etc. Refer to the printer's manual.
  2. The printer appears to be HP. Have you downloaded and attempted to use the HP Smart app available in the App Store? Your an change a few settings to the printer with that app as well. You can also print from that app.
  3. Review the manual to reset the printer to its default settings.
  4. Is your printer's Firmware updated via HP?

I will assume you have not only posted these requests for other Apple users around here, but have also asked HP. And they too have been unable to resolve this.

Make an appointment somewhere and bring the phone and the printer into somebody that can help you; maybe Apple if they’ll assist here with troubleshooting this HP printer, or probably better with a local Apple authorized service provider or a local Apple focused service provider.

If the printer firmware is older than 15.0.16079.469, you’ll want to update it, or have somebody help update it for you. Whether or not you have a Mac or Windows system, the vendor of that printer appears to provides firmware kits only for those two platforms. A friend or neighbor with a Mac or Windows system might help, there. Or a local computer service provider. Windows and Mac are what HP provides for updating printer firmware.

And if that printer has not worked for two years and you’ve repeatedly posted requests around here, get formal assistance with it locally, or seriously consider replacing it.
